Transfer of Voter Authentication Devices to the CEC

The transfer of the Voter Authentication Devices (VADs) to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia has taken place on 4 July 2017. The equipment was procured by the UNDP project “Support to the Electoral Process in Armenia” (SEPA), generously funded and supported by the European Union and the Governments of the US, Germany, UK and Armenia.

The new voter identification process, introduced by the Electoral Code of June 2016, was implemented for the first time in Armenia during the 2 April National Assembly elections.


The UNDP project “Support to the Electoral Process in Armenia (SEPA)”, is designed to deliver effective electoral assistance for the implementation of the new provision of the Electoral Code adopted in June 2016 introducing electronic voter authentication within the electoral process in Armenia. The overall objective of the SEPA project support the electoral process in line with the government’s commitment to organize credible and inclusive elections.
